Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful, fulfilling Spring Break, and that you are energized and ready for the rest of the school year. I'm sorry I have not done a good job keeping this blog updated. I vow to update it every day from now until the end of the school year.
Today, we began by writing "Six Word Spring Break Summaries" and then sharing them with the class. It sounds like our Spring Break activities were quite varied: some people took it easy, and some people went on some great adventures!
We then used the first two chapters from a book called Street Pharm to learn how to make a double-entry journal. I modeled for the class how to read and choose quotations from the book (recorded in the left column of the journal) and then respond to with my own thinking (recorded in the right column of the journal). The double-entry journal is a great way for me to be able to see what you are thinking as you read.
After we completed a class double-entry journal for Street Pharm, students created their own journals for their Lit. Circle books.
